During patient leader rounding on the Mother-Infant Unit, I met a family who shared a special story with me. When I first entered the room, I remarked on how beautiful their new baby was and asked was this their first baby. The Mother replied, "Well this is our first that we get to keep in this life, our first passed away at delivery." I quickly apologized for her loss and she said that it was ok, she felt this baby was sent to her by her angel in heaven. She went on to share that last year when she was here to deliver her angel, she had Nurse N. as her labor and delivery nurse. She said Trami was there for everything, stayed by her side, cried with her and prayed with her.
Trami left an impression on this family and gave them an experience they would never forget or have the words to thank her for. Fast forward to this year, the family was very excited to return to SFMC and deliver a healthy baby girl. The first day, they were in their induction, Trami was not on staff, the patient stated her labor was long and brutal. She ended up needing to stop the induction, rest for the night and planned to have a C-section the next morning. The next morning came, and Trami walked in to be their nurse. The husband and wife both agreed that Trami was supposed to be there with them, to help them bring their baby into the world, and Trami was sent to care for them by their angel.
To bring it full circle, the patient stated that after leaving the OR, they returned to L&D in the same room they were in last year when they said goodbye to their first baby. She felt the presence of her full family there and with Trami at her bedside, she felt her story was complete.
As a leader in the NLC, I can validate that Trami is a true blessing to our teams. She becomes a part of her patient's family, she is there for them, and she does everything in her power to provide the absolute best care possible. Thank you for going above and beyond, every single time. You are a true Blessing to us!

Trami was super awesome! I had to have an unexpected C-section and she made me feel super comfortable the whole visit! She's super sweet and honestly, I didn't view her as a nurse doing her job. You can tell that this is her passion by her care and concern! She definitely made this tough experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. Thank you for taking great care of us!
