...I was making a discharge phone call to a patient. She wanted the name of the nurse who went above and beyond to make sure she was well taken care of. The patient had been in for confusion and the neurologist wanted her to have an MRI. The patient has an implanted device in her bladder and has been told never to get an MRI. The nurse called the "urological person" but was not satisfied with the answer. Treina called the manufacturer of the device and had them fax the product information sheets. She then sent them to Radiology where it was discovered the patient could get an MRI. The patient did not have to have the device removed and she was able to get her MRI for the neurologist so she could be treated correctly. The patient is a cardiac patient and is on Plavix. The MRI showed possible small menigioma. Patient wanted to let us know how Treina went above and beyond to make sure she was being well cared for. Could not say enough nice things about Treina.
