We are incredibly grateful for Trey’s care and support. His ability to calm my sister during a frightening time was invaluable.
My sister, T, is a 40-year cancer survivor who has continued to face numerous health challenges, including an enlarged heart, cirrhosis of the liver, white matter on the brain, high blood pressure, kidney disease, leg amputation, and diabetes. Given our family’s history of kidney disease. Our mother passed away from this condition 31 years ago. My sister was understandably overwhelmed when she was recently hospitalized for acute kidney failure. During this incredibly stressful time, Nurse Trey went above and beyond his duties to provide compassionate care and support to my sister and our family. He was incredibly kind and empathetic, taking the time to listen to our concerns and answer our questions. He was especially comforting to my sister, holding her hand during a difficult procedure and reassuring her throughout her stay. Trey was always willing to help us with anything, whether it was providing directions to the hospital or simply lending a listening ear. He would often tell my sister jokes to make her laugh, lifting her spirits and providing much-needed distraction. I was so fearful that my sister wouldn’t make it out of the hospital this time that I told Trey that, no matter what, I didn’t want her to die alone. He took my numbers and reassured me that if that were to happen, she wouldn’t be alone. Knowing my mother died alone has always haunted me, and Trey’s promise provided immense comfort during a terrifying time. We are incredibly grateful for Trey’s care and support. His ability to calm my sister during a frightening time was invaluable. He is a valuable asset to your hospital and deserves to be recognized for his exceptional work. I see Christ in this young man, and I wish there were more nurses like him.
