Trey has been very comforting and anything I asked he was excellent at explaining and walking me through. He was very accommodating and made my stay welcoming and pleasant. Trey has earned my trust in every way possible. I fully trusted him with every suggestion. Any questions that my family or I asked, he answered promptly and to it's fullest potential. He answered all my medical questions in a way I could understand and knew when he should consult the doctor (he wasn’t a know-it-all). Trey went above and beyond my expectations from making me laugh when I was feeling down by doing the macarena and YMCA with me when I wasn’t allowed out of bed, just to make me laugh. Trey worked well with every member of the staff that entered my room. He had a very comforting and appealing way of taking care of me and was an overall excellent nurse and I believe he should be nominated.

Trey has been a colleague of mine for the 7 years I have been an RN at STHS. In those 7 years, I have witnessed countless reasons for Trey to be recognized as one of our hospital’s greatest assets. His sense of humor and dependability never fail to raise morale amongst colleagues, patients, and visitors. He is the type of nurse that makes me proud and confident to recommend this hospital to friends and family. A patient in Trey’s care is a blessed patient and there are many patients that ask for him by name. Trey’s charisma and compassion are only matched by his nursing knowledge and skill. I have seen him take the time and patience necessary to adequately educate his patients and their families. I have also experienced first-hand Trey’s willingness to assist and train his colleagues. When other nurses were asked to describe Trey, they called him entertaining, ambitious, comforting, uplifting, funny, empathetic, and a team player and he absolutely is most deserving of the DAISY Award.
