Tricia dropped what she was doing, came up to me, took hold of my forearms, and said, "Do you know where you are? Do you know why you are here?"
I recently had back surgery and want to share an experience I had after surgery. During the six days I was in the hospital, I had what was described to me as two episodes of delirium. I would like to share with you how your nurse, Tricia Fagnant, helped me through "my crisis".
The first time was 2:00 AM in the middle of my stay. I awoke to find my room in total disrepair; the chairs were turned over, the TV was damaged, etc. I could not hear anyone. I looked in the hallway and again saw no one and felt abandoned. I went to the nurse's station and saw several nurses working on their computers. I said, "What is happening? Is there a fight?" Several looked at me and smiled, but Tricia dropped what she was doing, came up to me, took hold of my forearms, and said, "Do you know where you are? Do you know why you are here?" She then talked me back to reality and got me back into bed. We then discussed a condition called delirium. I slept well after that. A couple of nights after it happened again and this time she saw my light was on and came into my room and she brought me back to reality. I have since researched delirium, and it all makes sense.
I hope that this note will give cause to LRH to recognize the humble and professional way in which Tricia took care of a "patient's crisis".
