During my stay while admitted in the hospital, I had the pleasure of receiving care from Valerie, who assisted in providing me with the vital care I needed. Valerie has played an important role in my recovery; she exemplifies what commitment, compassion, and care stand for. 

Valerie's care and attention were a beautiful reminder of the heart and soul of health and humanity. She showcased her knowledge and innovation in a respectful manner regarding different methods of comfort. She has demonstrated so many unique traits, even as a "Baby Nurse," as she put it. 

I can tell that Valerie will have a successful future as a nurse due to her kind nature and giving heart. She touched my life as no other Nurse had ever touched me in the past 12 years since I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I am honored to nominate Ms. Valerie Avila for The DAISY Award.
