Val is a long term team member in the BICU/PICU. She is the mom of night shift, the glue that keeps the team stuck together.

We just received a letter from the mother of a patient who died in our unit in 1996. It says it all. The mother said that she was so inspired by Val and the nurses in my unit during her very sad journey at HMC that after her husband passed away a few years ago she went to nursing school and is graduating this June. She has always remembered how Val impacted their lives and that inspiration has never been forgotten.

This is not the first time we've received a letter like this regarding Val. I couldn't agree more which is why Val deserves this award.
