I am scheduled for an operation on my elbow and have had several consultations with the surgeon to receive advice and understand the procedure. Each time I visited, Nurse Zen was at the desk in the orthopedic department, and during every interaction, I noticed his genuinely caring manner. He explains everything clearly and concisely, giving you confidence in the care you will receive. I observed that he treats all patients at the desk with the same friendliness and compassion, and his proficiency in English is reassuring for native speakers, ensuring you feel well understood.
Today, at my final visit before the operation, Nurse Zen informed me that the surgery time had been changed from morning to afternoon. He was very understanding and empathetic, especially as this means I will need to fast longer. I visited for a follow-up on my back pain treatment, which was referred from Bangkok Hospital Suratthani. While waiting to see the doctor, I observed a male nurse (I didn’t catch his name) who impressed me with his exceptional demeanor:
- He communicated with patients over the phone very politely.
- He engaged in conversations with patients waiting for services in a very kind and professional manner.
- There was a mother and child walking back and forth, seemingly looking for the billing department. Even though they didn’t directly ask for help, and the nurse was busy with something else, he noticed and asked if they were searching for the billing department, then kindly gave them directions.
- When a technician and another doctor passed by, the nurse greeted them in a respectful way and with warm acknowledgment.
- An employee approached him to ask for a mask, and he readily provided one with a sweet smile.
All of this happened within about 40 minutes, and it left a remarkable impression.
