I am writing to nominate Veronica Cirilli for the DAISY Award because she exemplifies everything a nurse should be and more. She is the kind of nurse that the family of J. Patrick Barnes would be incredibly proud of. Roni is the epitome of professionalism, coupled with unmatched kindness, courtesy, understanding, and unwavering support. She truly gives her all to her patients, embodying the spirit of nursing at its very core.

Our 85-year-old mother was fortunate enough to be in Roni’s care for a short time after ambulatory surgery. Thanks to her, our mom not only felt genuinely cared for but was also filled with hope. Roni’s compassion went beyond just meeting medical needs. She provided our mom with optimism about her healing and future prognosis, leaving her confident that her outcome would be excellent. Roni offered invaluable advice and provided hope in a way that made a real, lasting difference for all of us.

Even after her scheduled shift ended several days later, Roni spent personal time visiting our mom on the medical floor where she was recovering. This thoughtful gesture of staying by her side, sitting with her, and assuring her that her future was bright made a profound impact on our entire family. In all our experiences with healthcare professionals, we have never encountered someone as extraordinary and genuinely caring as Roni Cirilli. She is the ultimate example of nursing excellence, and it is clear to us that she is dedicated to her patients with every fiber of her being. Roni should be recognized, honored, and celebrated for her exceptional care and unwavering commitment to the nursing profession.
