I am writing you because I owe a great deal to an amazing nurse. At the beginning of December my grandmother fell ill and spent a couple weeks in the hospital. While she was there, my family and I made sure one of us was with her at all times. The hospital is a very scary place for a woman who made it 82 years without having to be there. As I'm sure you can only imagine, this ordeal took a great toll on my family. A heartache that was soothed by a wonderful nurse. A nurse that was there as much for us as she was for my grandmother and I cannot begin to put into words how very much we appreciate the comfort and kindness that Veronica Evans extended to us. In her memory, because I know that she was as grateful as I was, I nominate Veronica for the DAISY Award for her absolute kindness and dedication, and for the beautiful difference she made in my grandmother's, and my family's lives. She was a godsend for sure, an angel on earth.
