I would like to thank my nurse, Veronica Hargreaves. I was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma cancer earlier this year. I have had 3 stays so far on Talbot Butler. I met Veronica the first time I stayed. I was extremely unwell at the time and Veronica helped me through it.
As you can imagine I have been through many highs and lows on my journey so far. Each time Veronica was my nurse she seemed to get me. She sat with me at times when I felt so desperate about my condition. I have cried buckets, she never left me, she sat with me and had very positive comforting words. She never wanted to rush off to do something else even though I know she probably had a million other things to do. Every time she cared for me I always felt I was in safe hands. As we got to know each other over the weeks and the different times I had to be admitted she got me.
She understands me and my moods and always took the time to listen to me no matter how busy she was and always made me feel more like a friend than a patient. I even used to text my husband when I knew my nurse was Veronica and say, "Yay I have Veronica today!!"
I would love for her to know how much she has helped me on this journey and what a wonderful nurse I think she is.
