You offered to put your phone by S's ear this would allow me to speak with her, to pray with her, to share with her the loss we feel and the love that we have for her.
Dear Vicky,
I'm the older sister to S. You met S on Sunday when she became one of your patients during your ICU shift. It was a tragic day for me and S's family, but it was a Blessed Day for S. Your hard work, superhuman care, and loving heart was what S received during your time with her.
We, as a family, were struggling at the trauma of all that happened to S's body requiring a 911 call on that Sunday. Our faithfulness brings peace, but how do we say goodbye when the end comes and we can't be by her side.
When I spoke with you about getting a message to S, you offered to put your phone by S's ear this would allow me to speak with her, to pray with her, to share with her the loss we feel and the love that we have for her. That is a KINDNESS that is above your RN license. It is an amazing, compassionate, loving kind Human act. I don't have the words to share how you have touched our hearts and shown the wonder of Human Kindness.
S has gone home to be with the Lord, she is at peace, no longer struggling or in pain. I just wanted to share how your presence impacted all of our lives. You were doing so much more than "your job". You are the wind beneath her wing. God Bless You and keep you safe.
