One nurse stood out to me as he was very diligent, patient, and attentive to my needs during recovery. He made me feel better and less anxious.
I'm a 53 y/o female, a health care worker, recently diagnosed with breast cancer. It was devastating to hear about this life-changing illness. It made me anxious and worried. And even more nervous on the day of surgery. The doctor reassured me and made me feel better during prep time. The surgery went well. When I woke up at the recovery area a couple of nurses were attending to me, monitoring vitals and giving medication. One nurse stood out to me as he was very diligent, patient, and attentive to my needs during recovery. He made me feel better and less anxious. He was very caring, encouraging, and thorough in explaining post-op care, such as pain management, drain care, surgical wound care, dressing change, signs and symptoms to watch for, and reportable conditions. He provided me with supplies to take home for dressing change. He helped me get dressed and ensured I could walk safely before going home. He never rushed. He took his time to assist me to get ready for discharge home. He was calm and reassured me several times. Within those few hours during recovery, I felt very well taken care of. He is exemplary. He truly showed KP's core values: Compassion, Commitment, and Care! I really appreciate the service he rendered. Thank you!
