She went out of her way to make me as comfortable as possible. She gave me the space I unspokenly demanded, but at the same time, made sure I was physically ok to do the things I wanted to do.
Today, I woke up expecting to feel the same depression that I've felt since the day I arrived about 5 days ago. Not only has my stay here been somewhat disappointing and at times a little difference from what I’m accustomed to in regard to the treatment of staff and patient interactions. Let’s just say I had concerns about whether I should stay and finish treatment or go to a different facility. I had given up until...In walks this nurse with the earthliest personality, like there’s not a worry in the world. And to my surprise she totally defined the way a nurse should treat a patient. She made me forget I was even sick. She went out of her way to make me as comfortable as possible. She gave me the space I unspokenly demanded, but at the same time, made sure I was physically ok to do the things I wanted to do. Even when my sugar plummeted and dropped to 43, she didn’t panic, not even the charge nurse at the time knew what to do, but she kept me calm and brought my sugar back up like a professional. All I’m saying is, in the past 8 years, I’ve dealt with 5 surgeries and countless hospital visits and have had more nurses than I can even count. By far, Tori is and may well be the best nurse I’ve ever had. She truly deserves the DAISY Award. Because of her, my whole experience at this hospital has changed. Thank you! What a Day!
