A true experienced professional, Vicki seemed to know exactly what to say and how to talk to Mom to allay her fears.
No amount of words could ever express my gratitude towards the entire hospice care team that worked with my mom and our family during her time in Hospice care.
The star of the show was our nurse, Vicki. She showed concern and compassion for all our worries and fears, but what impressed me the most was how she talked to my mom. My mom tried to stay strong for the family but was able to break down and share her feelings of worry about what was happening to her and what was to come with Vicki. A true experienced professional, Vicki seemed to know exactly what to say and how to talk to Mom to allay her fears. I will forever remember sitting in on a conversation they had where Mom shared her worries and anxiety about everything that was happening to her, and she felt as though she had lost all control of her life. Vicki told her and continued to remind her throughout her time on Hospice care, that she (Mom) was the captain of the ship, and she decides the course the ship will take. I think that was the perfect analogy to use, and it really set Mom's mind at ease. You are the most wonderful people imaginable and I couldn't fathom having gone through this journey without you.
