Victoria was nominated anonymously by someone who has experienced the wonderful care she provides as a nursing student in the clinical setting. The nominator wrote, "The patient had been going through rehab and was struggling to find strength during an intense therapy lesson. Victoria not only handled the situation with grace but also with determination to give this patient further strength. A defeated patient and a bold nursing student. She first comforted them, letting them know that there is always tomorrow and that, one step at a time, they will persevere. Victoria used her therapeutic communication skills and gave a safe space for the patient to share their experience and feelings in that moment. After comforting them, she told them how strong they are and that everything they are doing to get better is benefiting them, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. That each day they are stronger because of their courage. I am truly inspired by her diligence, kindness, gentleness, and patience. Victoria is truly an exceptional nursing student and will be an even better nurse. She demonstrates exactly what it means to be a nurse, and I aspire to be half the nurse she will be."

Victoria will graduate with a BSN in May 2025 and will be a compassionate nurse who makes a difference in the lives of all she cares for.
