My mom visited your unit for aspiration pneumonia. She also has a history of dementia. She does not like being alone in the hospital and cries out a lot. This Nurse spent her charting time at my mother’s bedside singing and praying with her. She reassured my mom that she would be fine, and that family would be present soon. My mother was calmed and reassured when we were not around and couldn’t be at her bedside. Every time the alarms for her medications or alarms for her bed went off this Nurse came running. She was available for our questions and concerns without being annoyed or feeling hurried. My family wants to extend an enormous thank you for her patience with our mother and for finding a way to appease her demands as a dementia patient. Thank you, Nurse Villaflor from our family.
