I first arrived at Hospice hoping I would soon be climbing the "Golden Ladder" to heaven. My breathing was labored and I could not relax. Soon I realized I was surrounded by earthly angels and among them was Virginia.
Virginia has truly been a gift from heaven. She takes her nursing very seriously. She tracks me down to give me my medicines. Despite her own physical pain, she will search for me in several different locations to accomplish her mission.
Virginia always takes time to talk to me and offer words of encouragement. She does this with sincerity and kindness. Virginia has a very calming voice and gentle sweet smile. She never seems to be hurried or stressed. Her job has many demands and responsibilities but Virginia always appears relaxed. She makes me feel like I am her only patient.
Virginia is a gift to her terminally ill patients, their families and their friends. She is also a gift to her profession.
