When this person became the interim manager, there was a lot of coaching involved with bringing the fragmented pieces of tasks together over time for the transformational team that exists today. During their time as our leader, they have provided us with ongoing hope and encouragement daily. They implemented using Microsoft Teams to create formats to recognize our Team Members and teamwork celebrations. We use these same formats to educate ourselves for improvements as well. There is a general sense of well-being and joy in working with this team. We are energized, diverse and compassionate about our patients and each other. The managerial skills of this leader support and lead our Team Members to higher levels. We are much better nurses because we have the dedicated energy and support of our manager. This person arrived with a valuable skill set and a familiarity with our patient population. This person has embraced opportunities to learn the skillsets necessary for good patient outcomes in this specialty. Because of their excellent managerial skills and experience, they were able to grapple with all the complexities that this specialty needs. The Team Members felt understood and included. We bonded with this leader and celebrated with them as they managed to engage the ancillary departments to join us in collaborating for the good of our patients. The patients have benefited the most from this persons managerial skills. Physicians, ED OBS, Interventional Radiology, Social Workers, Case Management and Transportation elements have benefited from working together with us to provide superior care to the inpatient and ED OBS patients. This person spearheaded a specialty program for patients who are not covered by insurance and these patients would otherwise be susceptible to exposure to increased health risks without adequate immunization protection. This is a significant benefit this person was able to convince the leading management to support for the good of all of the communities.

This nurse leader also heads up our collaborative monthly. They attended a conference this year to get more education as an administrator and their personal quest to be more and to do better is an example to the rest of our team. This person demonstrates genuine care for their Team Members, and their authenticity to support and celebrate us will continue to bring credit to her, our team, and our patients.
