...Wejdan Fallatah shows her zeal in caring and serving our patient and family, her colleagues and multidisciplinary team daily.
Wejdan contributed so many excellent ideas in improving our patient care. She was new then when she initiated a hand over tool in improving communication among our nurses. And to add more substance in communication, she translated the patient's visit script into ARABIC so that the patient will get more information about operating room.
Operating room is a very unique and expensive place among hospital setting. Wejdan submitted Ideas for improvement to avoid wastage of Heparin medication during Coronary Artery Bypass Graft procedure.
Teamwork is the ability to work cooperatively with others to achieve a common goal. She is a good team player and when you love your job, it just shows! FRONT DESK NURSE is a very challenging assignment. You need to run the unit smoothly and get everybody abreast every day. She initiated briefings in the morning to get us nurses and other team members engage in delivering patient care. I was astonished when she handled it with composure and alluring smile.
Wejdan works in our surgical counts to monitor the compliance of our nurses in utilizing the swab count bags, white board and count sheet. She is also involved in making our unit/hospital a latex free environment. As a matter of fact, during Quality day this project was shown to create awareness.
Compassion is a golden rule! I can always see it in her, when she treats our patient and family with respect and dignity. That what makes her another different!
Majority of the staff nurses in our unit are expatriates. When one of our nurses is going to get married she arranged a simple but a very memorable gathering in her house. Everybody was surprised because of her kind act.
She presented a very interesting topic during hospital wide lunch and learn initiated by Occupational Health and Retention Department.
No matter how busy she is and our unit, she finds time to join and help the organization to meet our goal towards the strategic priorities of excellent service.
What else should I asked for when this nurse always listens and helps in our needs. She finds time so she could volunteer herself to accompany new employees to introduce their country and their culture during dinner and be actively engaged in Nurses Helping Nurses Voluntary program.
She definitely consistently meets the criteria of the extraordinary nurse, with all her awe-inspiring contributions, she deserves to be recognized as DAISY Honoree.
