Our father was transferred down from ICU into the care of the second floor. Wendy Joe welcomed us as if we were family. As days went on, my father had complications, and Wendy was quick to assess and verify multiple orders, including medications. Wendy was very thorough and knowledgeable about the kidneys and heart. My family is not easy to come by, especially with all the questions regarding my father‘s care. Wendy was very patient with us, very gentle and soft-spoken to my father. She provided thorough education and did not hesitate to verify anything with the many doctors involved. She always made sure she was present when multiple disciplines were involved. She provided safe care along with compassion. We overheard her speaking in Navajo to other patients, and we know that is rare in this community. She interacted with the staff in a professional manner throughout our stay. She did not hesitate to inform us when we couldn’t be at the bedside. Wendy made us feel involved and important in our father‘s care. She is a blessing to SJRMC, and I know many of her patients feel that way. Thank you so much, Wendy.
