On numerous occasions, Whitney has performed in exemplary fashion. While I do not doubt she takes care of all her patients in truly excellent care, I have taken great notice of a few things. First, Whitney's ability to anticipate problems or concerns before they become worse and address them appropriately. Next, she knows all her patients very well and can always give me a detailed synopsis and breakdown of the pertinent issues. Most importantly, it is Whitney's knowledge and the care that she gives to the sicker individuals.
Of my own personal experiences, I can remember specific instances where Whitney was able to prevent having to transfer patients to the ICU. This is thanks to her foresight, her quick action to the situation, and carrying out the appropriate orders without delay. For this reason, I have been able to save patients from requiring an ICU transfer.
As a physician, I can think of nothing more important to me in a nurse, than someone I can have complete faith and trust in to take care of our patients. I know immediately when she brings us a concern, I will take it seriously and usually act on it. It is Whitney's daily work and effort that sets her apart. Of course standing out on a station like 7 N is especially impressive given the high quality of nursing and patient care that all our nurses show. Thank you, Whitney.
