Will showed compassion, and the level of care he gave us was beyond exceptional; he was always going the extra mile. The days we were there, Will stayed late after his shift ended to make sure all our questions were answered and was very committed to making us aware of every step that was going on.
We were greeted by RN William Carden, who was very compassionate and caring toward us the second he came into the room and understood how tired we were. He constantly came in periodically and checked on mom and baby, making sure their care and comfort was a top priority. We often needed to get restocked on supplies and other things, and Will never skipped a beat and was always quick to ensure the needs were met.
We had to stay over a couple of nights due to our baby having to be monitored with the photo light therapy, which made everyone concerned and anxious about what was going on. Will took the time multiple times to comfort Mom and explain the process and the lab results in detail and was always in high spirits, making sure there were no doubts in the care she was receiving. There was a hiccup with one of the tests mom had to take and the results being delayed were holding us from being discharged, but Will came to the rescue and made phone calls and made it a priority we were comfortable and making sure that result came back completed to make sure we could be discharged because he knew we have been there a couple days and started to become restless.
Throughout the entire process, Will showed compassion, and the level of care he gave us was beyond exceptional; he was always going the extra mile. The days we were there, Will stayed late after his shift ended to make sure all our questions were answered and was very committed to making us aware of every step that was going on. Will made the interactions very personal and showed great compassion, and you could tell he was very passionate about his work. This life-changing event will always be remembered throughout years to come, and Will will always be remembered for how he treated us. We are forever grateful, and any patient is extremely lucky if they have the chance to be under his care.
I think his hard work and passion for not only the nursing aspect of things but also patient care should be recognized. He was able to be a caregiver, but at the same time, he felt like a family member with how he treated us. He represents the hospital very well and exceeded all expectations we had coming in there at a very stressful time. We can't put into words how grateful we are for him, and we hope at least this will show him his hard work does not go unnoticed and he receives the recognition that he deserves!
