Yvette Cox was the recipient of Sterling Regional MedCenter’s quarterly DAISY Award. Yvette is a nurse navigator at the David Walsh Cancer Center. The nomination for Yvette was from the wife of a previous patient seen in the cancer center. The wife called the director of the cancer center to share how much she appreciated everything that Yvette did for her and her husband. The wife stated, “Yvette answers all my calls and answers all my questions. This takes a lot of time because you know my husband and I are slow thinkers nowadays and I just want to let you know that I sure appreciate Yvette and what a great help she's been.” After the patient passed away, Yvette still reached out to the patient’s wife and helped her get through the tough times.
