Zachary stayed in the side of the shower and let him take as long as he wanted and kind of soak after helping him shower and washing his hair and this was all at like 2 a.m.
My son was beaten and left for dead with a baseball bat in the head/face and body. When he made it out of the ICU and to PCU we met the best nurse that I have ever come across in my life. From the minute we got to the PCU, Zachary came in and helped with getting my son a shower. That was the first one he had after this trauma had happened four to five days earlier.
My son was on a ventilator and in a coma and was not even able to sit up. Zachary stayed in the side of the shower and let him take as long as he wanted and kind of soak after helping him shower and washing his hair and this was all at like 2 a.m. because he didn’t get moved until midnight. My son had never been in the hospital before this trauma, just had been to the ER or to regular doctor's offices. He was very scared and not too sure of things. Being beaten, his mind wasn’t his old self, and on the 2nd day in PCU and lack of sleep he got out of his mind and worked up; Zachary was very calm and patient with him and called the doctor many times as well as worked him through it all- this was a very long night and went on for about 5 hours until the status changed and my son was firstly safe and helped with his pain and anxiety as well as mental state.
Zachary also took great care of my husband and I as well. He always explained everything, walked us through it all, and helped us to be as comfortable as possible. He was the charge nurse one night and was still coming in to check on him and us all the time. Zachary is a wonderful, kind, caring nurse.
