I have been at Kings County for the last nine months. Since I have been here, I have observed many of the nurses. Ms. Zindzi Brewster is one of the most compassionate, dedicated nurses working in the Emergency Department. Ms. Brewster goes above and beyond when it comes to extending a helping hand to her colleagues. One day, one of her colleagues were overwhelmed, and even though Ms. Brewster had her own patients, she took time out to go over and place an IV for one of their patients in order for the patient to get her fluids.

Dr. S wrote, "I just wanted to relate a short story to you about one of our great nurses. Ms. Zindzi Brewster did a phenomenal job. We had an 81-year old woman who fell down at home and had a head injury. We needed to get her to a CT scan, and we were going to have to get into a physical fight with the poor old lady and sedate her. Ms. Brewster went and sat with the patient at the patient's bed and calmed her down. Ms. Zindi Brewster called the patient's son and calmly talked the patient into getting the CT scans without resorting to sedation."
